SAFER WATERWAYS: Ipokia LG Unveils New Boat Ambulance at Akere Jetty

IPOKIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONDUCTS INSPECTION AND HANDING OVER OF DONATED BOAT AMBULANCE AT AKERE JETTY, MAUN WARD 1 We visited Akere Jetty in Maun Ward 1 for the inspection and formal handing over of a newly donated boat ambulance provided by United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), in partnership with the Ogun State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, for the benefit of Ipokia Local Government and adjoining riverine areas. The boat ambulance, which was officially received on Thursday, 18th December 2025, was donated to the Ipokia Local Government Health Authority to support emergency rescue services across the riverine communities within Ipokia Local Government. It will be deployed for prompt emergency response, rescue operations, and the transportation of persons in need of urgent medical attention across waterways at all times. NYCN NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT ATTENDED DANGOTE 2025 END OF THE YEAR PROGRAMME The Dangote End of the Year Programme 2025 was successfully held with wide participation from stakeholders, government officials, traditional rulers, and community members across the host communities. The programme featured the graduation of over twenty (20) youths drawn from the host communities who successfully completed a 3-months intensive skills acquisition training. As part of the empowerment initiative, beneficiaries were presented with stater packs to support their economic advancement. The Southwest Leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) joined Godswill Medical Consultancy to organize free medical services to over 800 community members to commemorate the 2025 World Volunteers Day. On December 5th, 2025, the National Vice President (Southwest), Comr. Kehinde Damilola Olorunjube, alongside the National Southwest Secretary, Comr. Musa Akibu, participated in a community focused outreach held at Sango Ota, Ogun State. The exercise aimed at giving back to society through a Free Medical Outreach, as well as campaigns against illicit drug abuse and child abuse. Volunteers conducted a street-to-street campaign across Sango Ota, sensitizing residents on drug related dangers and the importance of safeguarding children.
