The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, participated in a Joint Security Meeting between representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Benin held at the Idiroko–Igolo, Conference Room, Border Area. The meeting brought together security agencies from both countries, the Mayor of Ifonyin Municipality, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening cross-border cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges affecting communities along the Nigeria–Benin border corridor. Participants expressed concern over the growing incidence of transnational crimes, including smuggling, kidnapping, drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal migration, and other criminal activities.
