NYCN Southwest VP Joins Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders at GNI’s Mid-Term Constituency Engagement; Advocates for Youth Development Centre

MID-TERM CONSTITUENCY ENGAGEMENT IN YEWA NORTH/IMEKO-AFON FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

The National Vice President, Southwest Zone, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comr. Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo, attended the grand finale of the Mid-Term Constituency Engagements of the Honourable Member representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), which marked the climax of a series of engagements across the constituency.
The engagement served as a platform for reflection, accountability, and renewed commitment to development-oriented representation. During the event, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka presented a comprehensive mid-term scorecard of his stewardship, highlighting projects and interventions executed across the 21 wards of the Federal Constituency.
The projects span key sectors of development and include the construction and rehabilitation of classroom blocks, rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres, construction of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre, establishment of a mini power substation, road rehabilitation works, provision of electricity transformers, installation of over 1,000 solar-powered street lights, provision of boreholes, and the construction of a fully equipped modern Divisional Police Station aimed at strengthening the security architecture of the constituency. The engagement also featured the cash empowerment of 750 constituents, underscoring the lawmaker’s commitment to grassroots economic support.

The well-attended event attracted prominent traditional rulers and critical stakeholders from across the constituency. Among those present were HRM Oba Abdul-Azeez Adelakun, the Alaye of Ayetoro; HRM Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite, the Onimeko of Imeko; HRM Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, the Eselu of Iselu; HRM Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye, the Olu of Imasayi; HRM Oba Mukailu Salako, the Adokun of Igan Okoto; and HRM Oba Oyebanji Olowobese, the Oloja of Oja Odan, among others.

Also in attendance were the Executive Chairmen of Yewa North and Imeko-Afon Local Governments, Hon. Olusola Akinbode and Hon. Theophilus Olorode respectively; Chief (Mrs.) Mary Ogunjobi; Chief Lisa Adejobi; former Members of the House of Representatives for Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, Hon. Jimoh Olaifa and Dr. Oladele Ogunsiji; Hon. Titus Olusoji Eweje; and the Iyaloja General of Ogun State, Mrs. Yemisi Abass, alongside state and local government officials, frontline politicians, and community leaders.

The event further recorded the presence of former members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, representatives of political and civil society organisations, community development associations, transport unions including AMORAN and ACOMORAN, and organized youth groups, notably the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) chapters in Yewa North and Imeko-Afon.

Speaking on behalf of the Youth Constituency of Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, the National Vice President formally requested the establishment of a Youth Development Centre within the constituency. The proposed centre is envisioned to serve as a skills acquisition and vocational training hub, while also functioning as a central convergence point for all youth groups, aimed at fostering unity, innovation, and sustainable youth development.

KDO commended the constituency engagement initiative, describing it as a commendable model of transparent and accountable representation. He reaffirmed the commitment of the NYCN Southwest Zone to continued collaboration with elected representatives and stakeholders in advancing youth inclusion, grassroots development, and sustainable governance across the region.
