The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun West Senatorial District, led by Comrade Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Area Command I, Idiroko, as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that advance youth development, community engagement, security awareness, and sustainable development across Ogun West.

The delegation was warmly received by the Comptroller and officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, Area Command I, who reaffirmed the Command commitment to initiatives that positively impact young people and strengthen the relationship between security institutions and the communities they serve.

During the engagement, the Senatorial Youth Chairman, Comrade Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo, highlighted the remarkable achievements recorded by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun West Senatorial District, since the inception of the current administration. He reiterated the Council unwavering dedication to youth empowerment, educational advancement, leadership development, advocacy, and community service throughout the senatorial district.
In response, the leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service commended the efforts of the Youth Council and emphasized the critical role of young people in nation-building, peace building, and national development. The Command encouraged Nigerian youths to remain patriotic, law-abiding, and committed to contributing meaningfully to the progress and security of the nation.

The leadership of NYCN Ogun West also expressed profound appreciation to the Nigeria Customs Service, Area Command I, for its warm reception and continuous efforts in safeguarding the nation borders while promoting initiatives that directly benefit host communities. The Council reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the Command on programmes aimed at empowering young people, promoting peace, and creating sustainable opportunities for community development.

As part of the engagement, the leadership of NYCN Ogun West presented its forthcoming Drug Abuse and Social Vices Awareness Campaign, an initiative designed to educate young people on the dangers of substance abuse, cultism, cybercrime, violence, and other social vices while promoting responsible citizenship and positive values. The Council formally sought the partnership and support of the Nigeria Customs Service, Area Command I, Idiroko, in the implementation of the campaign. In response, the Command welcomed the initiative, commended the Council proactive approach to addressing challenges affecting young people, and expressed its readiness to partner with NYCN Ogun West in ensuring the successful execution of the programme. The approval further underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to youth empowerment, crime prevention, and sustainable community development.

Following the courtesy visit, the leadership of NYCN Ogun West joined the Nigeria Customs Service in the official commencement of the Inter-School Football Competition sponsored by the Nigeria Customs Service, Area Command I, Idiroko.
The tournament, which featured twelve secondary schools across Ipokia Local Government Area, was designed to encourage discipline, unity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and talent discovery among students while promoting educational excellence and positive social values.

The leadership of NYCN Ogun West commended the Nigeria Customs Service for leveraging sports as a strategic platform for youth engagement and development. The Council noted that sporting initiatives of this nature play a significant role in fostering peaceful coexistence, reducing social vices, nurturing future leaders, and providing young people with opportunities to showcase their talents in a healthy and competitive environment.

The Council sincerely appreciates the Comptroller, the management, and the entire personnel of the Nigeria Customs Service, Area Command I, Idiroko, for their hospitality, commitment to youth development, and continued investment in programmes that inspire, empower, and positively transform young people. NYCN Ogun West looks forward to sustaining this mutually beneficial partnership in the interest of the youth and the overall development of Ogun West Senatorial District.
