JUST IN: NYCN NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT SOUTH-WEST PARTICIPATED IN 2026 INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING

In commemoration of the 2026 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, I had the honour of participating as a Special Guest at the programme organized by the Office of the Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Agbado Okeodo LCDA, Alimosho Local Government, on 26th June 2026.

The event, themed "The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention," commenced with an awareness walk aimed at educating members of the public on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of collective action in building a drug-free society.
As part of the lecture session, I addressed participants on the devastating consequences of drug abuse, emphasizing its negative impact on the health, security, education, and future of young people. I urged youths to shun substance abuse, make responsible choices, and become ambassadors of positive change within their communities.

The programme was well attended by concerned Stakeholders to mention but few, the SSA to the Governor of Lagos State, Hon. Alabi Opeyemi, the LCDA Chairman ably represented by his Vice Chairman, the Leader of the House and his colleagues, SAs, Babaloja of Agbado OkeOdoChairman of the Transport Union, NDLEA and other NGO Representives. 
I commended the organizer, Hon. Fadipe Fisayo, the Supervisor for Youth and Sports, Agbodo-Oke Odo LCDA for his commitment to youth development and for creating a platform that promotes awareness, prevention, and community engagement in the fight against drug abuse.

As the National Vice President, South-West Zone, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), I remain committed to supporting initiatives that empower young people, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster a safer, drug-free society for all.

Balogun Daniel, has facilitated the delivery of brand-new wooden desks and benches to the pupils of Community Primary School, Okeosa-Ilase.
