AN OPEN LETTER TO SENATOR SOLOMON OLAMILEKAN ADEOLA YAYI, THE INCOMING GOVERNOR OF OGUN STATE

Your Excellency, Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, FCA, CON.

I write this letter with deep respect, sincere concern, and unwavering loyalty to the progressive struggle you have endured over the years in Ogun State politics.

As destiny and the will of the people continue to place you on the path of leadership toward becoming the next Governor of Ogun State, it becomes important at this critical moment to remind Your Excellency not to forget the genuine allies, loyal associates, and faithful supporters who stood firmly with you during the difficult days of political battles, intimidation, isolation, and uncertainty.

Politics, as we all know, is a game where many people suddenly appear at the peak of success pretending to be longtime friends and committed allies. Today, many who once distanced themselves from your struggle, mocked your ambition, or secretly worked against your political family are now rushing forward with loud praises and suspicious loyalty. Some who watched silently during the days of hardship now want to sit in the front row of celebration.

Your Excellency, this letter is not written to discourage reconciliation or political accommodation. Leadership requires maturity, forgiveness, and broad inclusion. However, history must never be erased. The memories of those difficult days should remain a guiding compass as you prepare for greater responsibilities.

There were days when your genuine supporters defended your name at personal risk. There were periods when your political associates were abandoned, attacked, intimidated, and humiliated simply because they stood with you. Some lost opportunities, some endured threats, while others remained loyal despite pressure from powerful interests. Yet they never betrayed the cause.

These are the people who deserve recognition, trust, and appreciation.

A tree does not forget the roots that kept it standing during the storm. The same people who stood beside you when the road was rough should not be pushed aside now that victory appears near. Temporary supporters may celebrate success, but true allies are those who remained when there was nothing to gain.

Your emergence as the incoming Governor is not merely a personal achievement; it is the reward of years of sacrifice, perseverance, consistency, and divine grace. It was built on the sweat, loyalty, prayers, and commitment of countless faithful followers who never lost hope even in the darkest moments.

As you move forward, may wisdom guide every decision. May loyalty never be sacrificed for convenience. May those who genuinely fought for the dream never become strangers in the season of victory.

Ogun State deserves a government built on sincerity, gratitude, fairness, and remembrance of genuine sacrifice.

May Almighty God continue to strengthen you, protect your vision, and grant you wisdom to distinguish true loyalty from opportunistic friendship.

Respectfully,

Ogbeni Ajibode Abd’Kabir
