FIRST AWARD OF THE YEAR BAGGED BY THE NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT, SOUTH WEST ZONE
On January 3rd, 2025, the National Vice President, South West Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo, attended an Education Summit organized by the NYCN Imeko/Afon Local Government Branch.
During the event, Comrade Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo commended the Branch Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Elijah, his Executive Members, and the Directorate of Education for organizing such a timely, impactful, and well-coordinated summit. He called on relevant stakeholders across the Local Governments to collaborate with the Local Branch in reviving the educational system. According to him, it is not too late to rebuild a great nation where quality education is affordable and accessible to all. He further encouraged young people across the Southwest to acquire sellable and marketable skills to remain relevant in today’s competitive world.
The Guest Speaker, Mr. Emmanuel Epueme, alongside panelists Mr. Agboola Opeyemi, Miss Hannah, and Mr. Basil Olusoji, brilliantly dissected the summit theme titled:
“Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Skills, Strategies and Success.”
The programme was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Chairman of Imeko/Afon Local Government, Hon. Theophilus Olorode, ably represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Naphew Abimbola; Mr. Idowu Joseph, representing the Education Secretary; Mr. Paul Ayoola, as well as community leaders and other stakeholders.
The event climaxed with an award presentation session, where Comrade Kehinde Damilola Olorunjubelo was honoured with the Youth Leadership Award in recognition of his tireless efforts toward the development of youths in the Southwest Zone and Nigeria at large.
In his response, Comrade Kehinde expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of NYCN Imeko/Afon Local Government Branch for the honour and dedicated the award to all purposeful and impactful youths across Nigeria.
