Ipokia Youth Council Hails Hon. Oyedele's Landmark Motion Against Checkpoint Extortion

Ipokia Youth Council Applauds Hon. Otunba Bisi Oyedele Bold Stand Against Multiple Checkpoints — A True Voice of the People Emerges

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ipokia Local Government Branch, has lauded the courageous and people-focused leadership of Hon. Otunba Bisi Oyedele, the distinguished member representing Ipokia/Idiroko Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, for moving a motion that calls for the reduction of multiple police checkpoints along the Owode–Idiroko road.

In a statement issued by the Council’s Secretariat, the youth body described the motion as a landmark legislative action that reflects genuine concern for the daily struggles of residents, motorists, and border communities who have long endured harassment and extortion from excessive security checkpoints.

> “Hon. Otunba Bisi Oyedele has shown uncommon courage and leadership rooted in empathy. His voice in the State Assembly stands as a shield for the ordinary people and as a symbol of accountability in governance,” the statement reads.



The Council further commended the Honourable for his consistent developmental strides, people-friendly projects, and unrelenting advocacy for better living conditions within the constituency.

> “In the same vein, we appreciate the Honourable for all his laudable projects and his continuous effort to be a true people’s representative. Ipokia is proud to have a leader who listens, speaks, and acts for the people. The youth community pledges unwavering support for his vision and commitment to the progress of our land,” the statement added.


The NYCN Secretariat also called on the State Government, the National Assembly, and the Inspector-General of Police to act promptly on the Assembly’s resolution, stressing that the well-being of citizens must remain the top priority in every security measure.

> “We stand with Hon. Otunba Bisi Oyedele in this noble cause. His action rekindles hope and inspires a new wave of youth confidence in leadership driven by purpose and humanity,” the release concluded.
